Behaviour Correction

I am the only canine behaviourist currently working in the Lower Mainland that offers behaviour correction sessions at a flat cost per session rather than per hour. I also offer the lowest consultation fee in the whole of British Columbia.

Prior to your consultation you will be asked to fill out a Client History form (G01) so that I can briefly review the dog’s history and behaviour. A consultation then will be at least 30 minutes and can last up to one hour. This consultation gives me a chance to meet the dog and assess the level of training and behaviour correction required. It also provides an opportunity to talk to you about any specific problems or questions you might have, as well as allowing me the opportunity to gain a more detailed history of the dog.

I cannot offer any behaviour correction sessions without a consultation.

All sessions include a full breakdown of the training and behaviour correction methods to be employed, through practical demonstrations and in writing. Information will also be given on different training aids which may be of use in the future, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and request further information relevant to the training of your dog.

At the end of the session I will give you an e-mail address at which I can be reached directly should you have any problems with the training techniques, or if any further behavioural problems should arise. Any further sessions will be charged at the normal rate, but e-mail support is available at no extra cost.

I cannot provide behaviour correction sessions for more than one dog at a time as each dog requires individual attention. The only exception are cases where the behavioural problem is centered around aggression between pack members.

If your dog’s behavioural problem is frequently Level One aggression or above (see chart below), you must select the K911 option from the Services page.

Aggression Chart

Level One:

Snap and miss

Level Two:

Single bite with enough pressure to bruise or scrape

Level Three:

Single bite that leaves punctures or tears from the canine teeth

Level Four:

Single bite where the dog holds on or shakes -or-

Multiple bites where the dog releases and grabs again

Level Five:

Level four bite plus mutilation (body parts missing)

Level Six:

Death

To book an appointment for a consultation and to receive a copy of Client History form G01, please e-mail me directly from the Contact SD page.

Other Services

PLEASE NOTE: At Siriusly Dogs I only utilize positive reward techniques as a method of behaviour correction and training. I do not condone the use of any negative training methods, which include verbal and/or physical reprimands, the use of shock/prong collars and the use of choke chains, among other things. My training methods are based on the understanding that positive reinforcement produces positive results.
